How to measure distance to hazards on watch

First, turn on the option to show map on watch. It is default to off to conserve watch battery. 

In Apple Watch app, first tab, scroll down to find the golf app. Click into the app settings and turn on the "Show Map" option. Click the top left arrow to go back a page (this is critical for the setting to take effect). See the following screenshot. Note: if the setting is not taking effect, please try toggle this switch. 

When you start a round on the watch, swipe to the left from the page showing the distance. (There should be 5 tabs total, and the map screen is the second tab). See screenshot below. 

Hold the picker in the middle, drag it around to measure the distance from your current location to anywhere the marker is pointing to.
